Unreal Essential Training (2016) Tutorial Blog Part 10

Look Developments: Effects

Creating Atmospherics: In the tutorial It talks about what the Foliage Tab does.
The Foliage Tab should allow to use an object and paint it around (Flood the area with that object).

The Video Below just shows me using the Foliage Tool to add grass and trees.

Creating Ambient Wind: Here I am going to add ambient wind effects. Here I used the Material Editor to make the material have a wind effect. I added these (Picture) to make it move and there is also a video. ( There will be 2 Videos but on the first one it just shows me using the material editor as I said in the summary)

Then in the other part of the video I am doing the same thing like I did with the grass except I will be adding it to the tree. It was the same process just like the grass.

Creating Ambient Particles: Fog:
For this part of the tutorial I am learning how to add Fog Ambient Particles for the scene i'm working on. (Picture & Video)
There are 2 types of Fogs.
One is Atmospheric Fog and this one is used for global fog which provides distance and light scattering effects of the fog in the Atmosphere. The location of the fog icon does not matter.

The second fog is called the Exponential Height Fog. With this fog the lower the height of the environment the more dense the fog will be. This one looks better then Atmospheric Fog.

Using Particle Systems: In the first half of the video it just shows what Cascade is and how it works in the Environment. ( Video & Pictures ) It show what effects are provided.

The display for the Cascade mode has some things that are similar to the material editor.
This mode is great to create different levels of detail to a particle.

Creating Ambient Particles: Exhaust:
In the first part I have to create an exhaust particle effect for the car in the scene. The first thing I have to do is go to the effects folder and right click and select particle system. After this I am working in the Particle editor. There are different modes for a particle

After this I go to the Required tab and change the default particle material and I select exhaust smoke. At this point its hard to see so I have to work with points. Then I will click the Spawn tab. From this point im just adjusting a lot of things in the particle editor. (Video below)

Creating Glow Bugs: For this part I am learning how to create a glow type of effect (Bugs / Particle Effect) It Will be the same process when creating the particle effect as before. (Video)
